The Walt Disney Pictures adventure comedy Bedtime Stories stars Adam Sandler as Skeeter Bronson, a hotel handyman whose life is changed forever when the bedtime stories he tells his niece and nephew (Laura Ann Kesling and Jonathan Heit) — left in his care by his sister Wendy (Courteney Cox) — start to mysteriously come true. On hand to try to curb the madness and help with the children is Wendy’s responsible friend Jill (Keri Russell) and Skeeter’s friend and sidekick Mickey (Russell Brand). As the stories get wackier and wilder, Skeeter attempts to take advantage of the phenomenon, incorporating his own aspirations into one outlandish tale after another, but it’s the kids’ unexpected contributions that turn his life upside down. Daley Plaza Tree To Light Up Downtown Chicago
The City of Chicago kicks off the holiday season at noon Tuesday with the annual lighting of the Christmas tree in Daley Plaza.
The tree is located just a stone’s throw CBS 2’s studios at 22 W. Washington St.
Actress Keri Russell of “Waitress” and “Felicity” fame is the special guest for the tree lighting. CBS 2’s Bill Zwecker and Mayor Richard M. Daley will also be on hand, along with local anchorman Warner Saunders, the Melodeers Chorus, the Apollo Chorus and the Queen of Angels School Choir.
Russell is teaming with Underwriters Laboratories Inc. to spread the word about safety for children during the holidays. Russell and UL have developed a Web site, safetyathome.com, with safety tips to prevent fires, electric shock and other dangers.
“We’re helping create awareness about holiday safety for moms and families,” Russell said Tuesday morning.
The giant tree is normally lit on the Friday after Thanksgiving, but because the city made that day an unpaid furlough day for city workers, the ceremony was rescheduled.

Sometimes I feel and fear that in entertainment today, we have forgotten about the one primary ingredient — the writer. The playwright, the screenwriter, the book author, the lyricist. Without him/her, we are left with nothing but car crashes, stunts , grunts, and animatronic creatures of childhood charm. Continue reading ‘All About Eve’ a writer’s triumph
