Keri Russell Says Running Wilde Is Like a Men’s Club — for Nerds

As Felicity, the sensitive college girl forever caught between two men in The WB series of the same name, Keri Russell became known for dramatic, breathless hellos, rather than breathless laughter. But Will Arnett, her co-star in Fox’s new comedy Running Wilde, says Russell is not only funny, she was at the top of their wish list to play his opposites-attract love interest.

Keri Russell’s life takes a funny turn

The former ‘Felicity’ star returns to television as the comedic foil for Will Arnett in the new Fox series ‘Running Wilde.’

It’s mere hours before the Emmy Awards and Keri Russell is in a bathrobe in her hotel room, holding two phones to her ears. Her hairstylist is arriving and she’s feeling overwhelmed by all the primping that’s about to take place.

“If I had it my way, I’d be going in jeans and a T-shirt,” she explained over the phone. “I can’t decide what to wear! Purple dress or pink?”

She went with the pink — a late-1970s hot-pink pleated chiffon Jean-Louis Scherrer gown from her own closet.

The intense glamour regime required by the awards circuit and the self-promotion that comes with a network TV series is a huge leap from the ungussied lifestyle she leads in Brooklyn, where the former “Felicity” actress rides her bicycle to the market and returns home with bags of food strapped to the back. The Adrienne Shelly Foundation Announces Star-Studded 50+ Item Lineup for Third Annual eBay Auction Fundraiser

he Adrienne Shelly Foundation (ASF), a non-profit organization dedicated to the memory of writer/director/actor Adrienne Shelly (WAITRESS, SERIOUS MOONLIGHT), today announced the roster for its third annual online auction fundraiser, which will go live on eBay on September 20 and run through Sept 30.
The 50+ item catalogue features lunch dates with a diverse group of celebrities including Paul Rudd, Keri Russell, Jane Lynch, Michelle Williams, John Hamm, Susie Essman, Cheryl Hines, Patricia Clarkson, Rosario Dawson, Kevin Smith and Hal Hartley; set visits and meet & greets to TV shows like The Good Wife, Castle, United States of Tara, Breaking Bad and The Rachel Maddow Show; and walk-on roles on Community, Hung and an upcoming film of veteran producer Ted Hope. VIP ticket packages include meet & greets to a wide range of shows including Maroon 5, Joan Rivers, Celebrity Autobiography, Semi-Precious Weapons and Dar Williams; VIP tickets to Ellen, The Daily Show, Colbert Report, Rachael Ray; VIP tickets to the Sundance Film Festival and red carpet premiere tickets at the Tribeca Film Festival. Proceeds will go toward ASF’s mission to support women filmmakers. San Louis Obispo, CA-based auction agency Kompolt provided campaign creation and management. “We are incredibly grateful to all of the talented entertainers, filmmakers, TV studios and organizations involved in this year’s auction,” said ASF founder and executive director Andy Ostroy, who is also Ms. Shelly’s widower. “Their generosity, and the generosity of the buyers in turn, will directly enable and enliven the artistic voices of many very deserving women in the film industry.”
Since its inception three and a half years ago, ASF has partnered with the industry’s finest academic and filmmaking institutions to aid women in their artistic journeys with film school scholarships, production grants, finishing funds, and living stipends. Its track record is already impressive – recipients of ASF grants include Cynthia Wade, who won an Academy Award in 2008 for her documentary Freeheld, which ASF helped fund.
