‘THE AMERICANS’ TRAILER: KERI RUSSELL GOES TO WAR!

Assuming the world doesn’t come to an indifferent end tomorrow (SPOILER ALERT: it won’t), 2013 is going to prove quite a year for FX. Not only will we see new seasons of ‘Justified,’ ‘Archer,’ ‘Anger Management‘ and new series ‘Legit,’ but also the premiere of FX’s buzzy new drama ‘The Americans‘! Set against the backdrop of the Cold War, ‘The Americans’ looks to have quite a bit more action than we gave it credit for, as seen in the latest trailer!

The Cold War will begin anew on January 30, as FX premieres its talked-about new drama ‘The Americans.’ We’ve seen a few bits of footage and teasers from the series, but never something quite so action-packed as the latest look at ‘The Americans.’ Who knew being a Russian spy involved such dangerous work?

For those unfamiliar with the series, ‘The Americans’ takes place in 1982 and follows Elizabeth Jennings (Keri Russell), one half of a KGB-arranged marriage planted within Washington D.C. Her relationship with her husband Philip (Matthew Rhys) becomes increasingly tested by the Cold War’s escalation, the associations they maintain with a network of spies and informants under their control, as well as their new FBI agent neighbor Stan Beeman (Noah Emmerich).

Along the way, Elizabeth and Philip find their fake relationship growing more passionate and genuine on a daily basis. ‘The Americans’ was also recently announced to include a hefty guest turn from ‘Justified’ Emmy winner Margo Martindale.

Check out the action-packed new teaser below, and tell us if you’ll watch ‘The Americans’ when it premieres January 30!

Eastern Effects, a Brooklyn-based studio that is home to the upcoming FX spy show “The Americans,” was damaged by flooding from Hurricane Sandy, TheWrap has learned.

Shooting on the show, which stars Keri Russell and Matthew Rhys as KGB agents in 1980s Washington, D.C., was scheduled to begin next Tuesday, but because of the damage to sets it has been delayed until Nov. 26, according to two individuals familiar with the production said.

Despite the proximity of a notoriously polluted canal, initial testing determined the studio was not exposed to raw sewage or other contaminants.

One set was damaged after a soundstage was flooded with six inches of water, one individual close to the production said. The network declined to comment.

Crew members became concerned about safety because Eastern Effects is located near the Gowanus Canal, which is considered one of the country’s most contaminated bodies of water. Continue reading FX’s ‘The Americans’ Studio Flooded by Hurricane Sandy; Shooting Delayed
